Pronoun and Speech

1. Pronoun
Examples:

• Personal Pronoun : Yesterday I met didik. just now i met him  again.
• Possessive Pronoun : This is your hat and that is mine.
• Reflexive Pronoun : I always do my homework myself. nobody helps me.

Note:
       - A dependent possessive pronoun is followed by a noun.
       - An independent possessive pronoun cannot be followed by a noun.

2. Direct Speech VS Reported Speech

Direct Speech	Reported Speech
He says:"he likes salmon fish."	He says that he likes salmon fish
He said: "I'm leaving for Rome next weekend."	He said that he was leaving for Rome the following weekend.

In reported speech pay attention to the transformation of pronouns, tense, place, and time expression, to be and auxiliary verbs. When you use reported speech, you either report: statements, requests/commands and questions.
Examples:

• Marry, told her friends that she had been to Bali twice. (statement)
• He asked me to open my book. (command/request>
• The man asked me where i lived(WH. questions)
• He asked me whether/if you worked in retail company. (Yes/No questions)

 3. Relative Pronoun

Relative pronouns are word that initiate a clause giving a description or explanation about someone or something.

Relative Pronoun	Examples in Sentences
Who	The man who helped you yesterday is my father
Whom	The man whom you helped yesterday is my father
Whose	The lady whose child is in the hospital right now is my neighbor
Which	We are waiting for the bus which goes to Bandung
That	I like the painting that is over there
